Abstract Submission Information

Similar to our previous conferences, we are accepting abstracts for the following categories:

In addition, you may submit your abstract and be considered for a CCS Communication Award and/or Scientific Image Contest (apply during abstract submission).

Short Talk and Poster Presenters should prepare abstracts using the following guidelines:

  • Abstract title

  • Author(s)
    Firstname Lastname, Firstname Lastname*, ... with presenting author identified with an asterisk = e.g., John Brown, Betty White*

  • Affiliation
    Institution, City, Country for all authors
    (in case of multiple institutions, please identify respective author and corresponding institution with a number)

  • Abstract Body (Maximum 350 words)
    References will not be counted in the abstract word limit
    Please do not include figures or tables

Scientific Image Contest: Deadline June 13th, 2025

The Education Committee of the Cancer Cachexia Society (CCS-EC) invites you to participate in the ‘Scientific Image Contest’.

We invite all registered participants to show their creativity and research by submitting their favorite scientific image taken during their research journey! Whether it’s a striking image of your experimental setup, a captivating microscopic view, or a visually stunning representation of your data, we want to see your work! 

All pictures will be shared on CCS social media channels, so by submitting your picture for the CCS Scientific Image Contest, you are consenting to share your material on the internet under the umbrella of the CCS.

Eligibility Criteria:
This competition is open to all registered participants (basic science, translational or clinical), regardless of career stage.

Application Criteria:
Applicants for the Scientific Image Contest must include the following in their application, during abstract submission:

  • A picture (.jpeg, .tiff, or .pdf format) of max 1MB
  • A legend/description (max 160 characters, incl spaces) of the image.

There will be 2 winners:

  • Pictures will be posted on CCS social media channels for selection of the “most popular” pictures (most “likes”)
  • Pictures will be posted in Whova and conference participants will select a winner by most votes.
